Spotredsea.com would like to invite you to claim your business listing in our online Business Directory.

Benefits include:

- You can optimise your listing(s) by ensuring the details are correct and updating/improving it at any time

Who is the right person?
We recommend either the Business Owner, the Managing Director or the Marketing Manager claim the listing; depending on the size of the company.

What do I do?
Simply locate your business listing on www.spotredsea.com by choosing the ‘Business Finder’ tab, searching for your business by name, or by using a key word and the refining options.

Once found, please click on the label to view the detail page; just under the title you will see the option to ‘Claim this listing’. Click here, complete the required fields and submit it to the Spot team for verification.

When it’s been verified, it will appear in your Profile along with your personal information (Profile), your Friends, and any Classifieds ads you have active. From here you can fully maintain your listing at any time without the need to come through us.

You are able to claim more than one listing on the site and we encourage you to claim all listings relating to your business(es). If you have any questions about claiming your listing, or experience any problems, please email us here customer-care@spotredsea.com.

Is your business on our site?
Search for your business in our directory! Simply locate your business listing on www.spotredsea.com, choose the ‘Business Finder’ tab, then search for your business by name, or by using a key word and the refining options.

Listed?
If yes, great. We’ll tell how you can claim and optimise your listing in the next issue. If no, add it now and attract new clients...

What do I have to do?
Once you have registered / logged in, click the ‘Classifieds’ tab and choose ‘Add Classifieds / My Business’, and click on ‘+ add business’.

Complete the required fields, upload your logo, add any relevant images and provide comprehensive contact details. Then click ‘Save’!

Your business will now show in your list, just like your active Classified Ads. You can now change it, update it, or improve it whenever you like. It doesn’t expire.

Introducing Spot’s New Business Directory

So, what’s new about our online Business Finder? Well, we’ve listened to your feedback and based our improvements on your experiences online.

We have added functions to ‘search for’ and then ‘refine’ the listings. We’ve found it the most effective method of locating the listing you need. You can search in one of two fields by company name or ‘key word’ and you can refine your reach results by location and subcategory. You’ll be aided by our autosuggest function that will help you see the options tagged within the database.

We’ve improved the design of the results page and replaced the scrolling function with ‘pages’ that will be familiar from the new ‘Classifieds’ section. This makes it easier for you to navigate. Similarly, we’ve added sorting options (A-Z, Relevance and Popularity) and the ability to view 10, 30 or 50 results per page to aid viewing your results.

Our aim is ensure listings are easy to find, view and add, and that existing businesses are ‘claimed’ by business owners.

New user services available now!

If you have ever advertised on Spotredsea.com, then you will already be a member of our site. Following changes made to our user profile, you can now interact with your friends, message new contacts and actively manage your classified adverts.

These improvements mean the site is more interactive and easier than ever to use. Simply log in, click on the ‘Classifieds’ tab and go to ‘Add Classifieds’. Here you are able to update and expand your personal details, view, edit and add your classifieds, maintain your friends list and stay in touch!

Find friends old and new through the ‘Members’ tab; enter your search criteria, or search by name in the search box in the top right corner of the Homepage. Once found, click on their ‘label’ and add them to your friends list.

To help you manage your Classifieds and contacts, our new alert system lets you know by email when your ad is near to expiring, when you have added a new friend, and when you have received mail. It even confirms registration, and can help you reset a forgotten password.

This week saw the launch of the hardcopy edition of the SpotRedSea ‘Classifieds’ guide. This free publication will be found in Hurghada’s ‘hot spots’ around town and means your adverts will reach an even greater audience.

The aim is to grow the already considerable readership of over 27,000 and continue to integrate local businesses with the community and the community with the opportunities that exist along the Red Sea coast.

The Spot ‘Classifieds’ contain the latest jobs, events, real estate developments and items to buy and sell. You’ll also find instructions on how to post your ‘Classified’ online, and if you have posted a ‘Classified’ recently, you will find it here, reaching an even greater reading public.

Spot Classifieds launched live!! Add your classifieds for free

Yes it's live! & It's Free ... our Spot Classifieds new service is online now. We are offering you a tool to advertise your classifieds online for free.

You can search in our classifieds directory easily, just click on the classifieds tab on the top, choose the desired categories (jobs, classified ads, Real Estate & Events) then click "Find Classifieds" button.

This will open the classifieds page where you can filter your search using the refining options on the left, or you can use the sort option on the top right of our labels and select the number of results per page.

For adding your classifieds, please send all your classified ads on classifieds@spotredsea.com with your contact information and we'll publish them for you and update you when they are ready.

There will be a big update soon regarding the classifieds new service .. Stay Tuned!!

On 27 September 2007 Amir did commit number 1000 in our source control SVN.
And after 8 months on 27 May 2008 Geeee did commit number 1500.


When Amir did the 1000th commit it was for something great and very important for our website, it was the calender "the main component in our sites".

And when Geeee did the 1500th commit, what happened??!! , lets see the next few days :) .

Chris' Birthday

Another Birthday in Spot's Team: On May 15th Chris, Managing Director of Spot Local started a new year of her life with a small surprise party in her office.

The plan was as follows: Chris comes to work and finds the whole team gathered around a big bouquet and a birthday cake singing happy birthday.

But since nothing comes as planned in life: Chris was off on that day!

However we arranged a big bunch of flowers and took off to get some of Corsini's delicious cakes. Since a birthday cake is the center of any birthday party (besides the birthday kid ;)) its security was our highest priority! :D Properly fastened with the seat-belt the cakes arrived the office safe and unharmed.

The only problem was: How to get the birthday girl to the office...

Chris was asked to come in under the guise of having an urgent meeting with the lawyer. What she found in the office was relieving: A room filled with flower scent and a smiling team with cakes, singing happy birthday.

My favorite of Chris' bold comments: We should hire some singers ;)
