Living in Hurghada: food & beverages -prices

Hello again! Today: How much do you have to spend on food & beverages in Hurghada?

Eating out:

• If you want to have lunch /dinner at a typical Egyptian restaurant with soup, meat, vegetables, soft drinks you will pay about 25 -50 Egyptian Pounds (LE) per person (~3-6Euro)

• If you decide for an European restaurant here in Hurghada, e.g. to enjoy a steak or a pizza the bill is about 60 -120 LE (7.50 -15 Euro)

Buying food:

• buy the vegetable and fruits in the street -it is cheaper than in the big Supermarkets, for each type you pay for a kilo 2-5 LE, but be careful –read again my post about shopping rules, otherwise you pay a fortune

• European stuff is very expensive, e.g Italian espresso at a big Supermarket costs about 35LE

Result: If you just buy Egyptian food/beverages it is really affordable, if you can not abstain from European stuff –look for a good paid job:-))
